Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghaffar ordered the establishment of a branch operations room at the human rights sector to follow up the course of the parliamentary elections, which kick off next week.
The new room will be connected with the operations rooms of the national councils for human rights, women, childhood and motherhood, and disabled persons and civil society organizations to detect any problems during the voting process, the minister said.
The elections will start on October 17–18 for Egyptian expatriates and October 18–19 for Egyptian residents. The second phase starts on November 21–22 for Egyptians abroad and November 22–23 for Egyptians in Egypt.
