The police are facing a confrontation that requires special attention to training and good preparation for preemptive strikes against evil elements, Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghaffar said.
Policemen will continue efforts and sacrifices to achieve the security of the great people of Egypt, the minister said at the end of a training course for rapid intervention forces on Thursday.
The ceremony started with observing a one-minute silence in tribute to departed police and army officers.
The minister hailed the performance level the rapid intervention forces showed during the training, including shooting skills, cordoning off a checkpoint ambushed by terrorists, controlling dangerous criminal elements and VIP protection.
