An Egyptian team investigating the EgyptAir plane crash is following up search operations in the hope to retrieve more wreckage from the Mediterranean waters.
Jets from the Egyptian air force and the Ministry of Petroleum, as well as from France and Greece, are contributing to the search operation, said a statement by the investigation panel Tuesday.
Some of the plane wreckage has been sent to the criminal lab in Cairo and the prosecution has ordered DNA testing to identify the retrieved body parts, the statement added.
The Egyptian investigation team is working with their French peers to detect the location of the two black boxes, the statement said, noting that the Egyptian government is acting to ease all obstacles.
The Egyptian team is also reviewing information about the plane and its systems and maintenance history, it said. The Egyptian investigators are also looking into professional files of the crew, the statement added.
