
President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi of Arab Republic of Egypt received here yesterday Prince Khalid bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Chief of General Intelligence of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The official presidential spokesman Ambassador Alaa Yusuf said in a statement that the meeting discussed ways of enhancing distinguished relations between the two countries in all fields and latest developments of regional issues and situations in Iraq, Syria, Libya and Yemen.
He stressed identical viewpoints of the two sides on the importance of working to correct the prevailing image about Islam and show it in its true tolerant image which renounces violence and extremism and urges on tolerance, moderation and acceptance of the other, noting that the meeting emphasized the need for concerted efforts of Arab and Islamic countries to achieve this goal through coordination and joint actions.
Ambassador Yusuf said that in this context, the meeting affirmed Al-Azhar's pivotal role and its effective contribution to correct misconceptions about Islam.
