Egyptian President Abdulfattah Al-Sisi discussed here on Saturday with Chairman of the Saudi Royal Court and the King's envoy Khaled bin Abdulaziz Al-Tweijri and Qatari Amir Special Envoy Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdulrahman ways of activating Saudi King Abdullah's initiative.
The meeting dealt with ways of implementing the initiative put forward by the Saudi King during the last conference in Riyadh, Egyptian Presidential spokesman Ambassador Alaa Yosif told reporters tonight.
The meeting also tackled the decisions made in that conference and commitment by all the GCC countries to support Egypt and contribute to its security and stability, including bolstering conciliation among Arab countries, especially between Egypt and Qatar.
Ambassador Yosif added that Al-Sisi hailed the sincere efforts of Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud to achieve unity among the Arab countries and the end division and interferences to countries' internal affairs.
The spokesman pointed out that Al-Sisi said that Egypt is looking forward to a new era with unity among Arab countries as a priority, an end to past disagreements, and to work sincerely on a common vision with hopes to achieve respect and aspirations of the Arab peoples.
The spokesman noted that Al-Sisi expressed full agreement with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his appeal to all intellectuals and journalists to respond to the initiative and support it in order to move forward in strengthening the Egyptian-Qatari relations in particular and the Arab relations in general.
