
The Public Security sector of the Interior Ministry has continued campaigns to arrest outlaws, fugitives and holders of unlicensed firearms and cold steel and to control the security situation on streets.
The campaigns have been conducted during the past 24 hours upon directives of Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghaffar to bring back order across the country.
The clampdowns have led to the seizure of 369 unlicensed firearms and 252 cold steel pieces, while two workshops for making firearms were raided by security forces.
Also, 96 wanted persons were arrested during the campaigns.
As many as 225 drug cases were recorded and large amounts of drugs were seized.
Three gangs comprising eight suspects and five other persons were arrested in the campaigns over robbery and thuggery charges.
