
Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held talks Sunday with his Sudanese counterpart Ibrahim Al Ghandour on the sidelines of the African Union Executive Council meetings held in Johannesburg, South Africa, said Spokesman for Foreign Ministry Badr Abdel Ati.
Shoukry congratulated Ghandour on his new post, praising relations binding between Egypt and Sudan.
Shoukry underlined the importance of coordination between the two countries on issues of mutual concern.
The meeting tackled preparations for holding the meetings of the joint higher committee between the two countries and following up directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his Sudanese counterpart Omar al Bashir.
The meeting tackled the latest developments in South Sudan and ways to find a final solution for the country’s crisis as soon as possible, Abdel Ati said.
The meeting also tackled the latest developments in Libya along with the regional and international efforts to end the Libyan crisis.
