Egyptians celebrate January 25 Revolution

Egyptians on Monday celebrated the fifth anniversary of January 25 Revolution which coincided with the Police Day in all governorates.

In Aswan, Govenor Magdi Hegazi led a delegation of his deputies, lawmakers, religious figures and executive and university officials to the Police Directorate where they greeted police commander-in-chief Major General Omar Nasser and all police personnel on the occasion of Police Day, wishing them all the best.

He also inspected a number of police patrols and checkpoints in the governorate to greet police forces on their feast. According to the governor, the gesture comes in recognition of gratitude over continued sacrifices presented by policemen on field nationwide.

In Suez governorate, police chief Magdi Abdel Aal distributed roses in main streets of the capital city to express greetings to the residents celebrating the January 25 Revolution, highlighting that Suez policemen maintained friendly relations with residents.

Suez Governor Ahmed el Hayatmi, for his part, visited the families of martyrs at their homes, assuring them the state’s appreciation for the martyrs who sacrificed to the best of their beloved country.

In Gharbiya, police chief Nabil Abdel Fattah decided to exempt the first five citizens who would apply for driving licenses from paying fees on Monday. Govener Ahmed Daif, however, visited the memorial set up for police martyrs where he placed a wreath of flowers.

In statements, Daif asserted that the Egyptian people would never forget continued police sacrifices to maintain security of the nation.

Also, in Port Said governorate, the traffic department presented six free driving licenses for applicants as part of Police Day celebrations. The department in charge of securing the Suez Canal axis, for its part, celebrating with Port Said residents at a number of locations by distributing sweets and flowers.

In Minya, Governor Tarek Nasr, accompanied by police chief Reda Tabliya, also placed a wreath of flowers on the memorial of police martyrs in the security forces department HQ.

While the governor thanked police officers for their continued efforts to serve the best interests of citizens, the police commander asked his personnel to exert more efforts to secure all parts of the governorate and help stabilize a feeling of security among residents.

Similar scenes of celebrations marking the January 25th Revolution and Police Day were observed in governorates of Beni Suef, Qena, Matrouh, Luxor, Sohag, Sharqiya and Beheira.
