The Egyptian Embassy in China is opening its doors to nationals in the Asian country Thursday to celebrate the inauguration of the New Suez Canal.
Celebrations back home will start kind of late due to a six-hour time difference between Cairo and Beijing, but the embassy here will secure a live coverage of the ceremony, which will be aired on Egyptian TV, said Mo'taz Anwar Moustafa, the deputy Egyptian ambassador, in statements to MENA.
Egyptians in Beijing will be allowed to watch the historic event at the embassy, Moustafa said.
He made it clear that the embassy will organize a press conference Friday to shed light on the great Egyptian achievement and future expectations of the New Suez Canal, as well as its positive effects on Egypt.
