Egypt's Ambassador to Yemen Youssef al Sharqawi and members of the Egyptian consulate in Aden left here early Wednesday back home.
The Egyptian ambassador arrived in Aden on March 14 to hand Yemeni President Abdel Rabou Mansour Hadi an invitation to attend the Arab Summit, that will convene in the Red Sea resort of Sharm El Sheikh on Saturday and Sunday.
The Egyptian embassy in Sanaa was closed and the embassy staff was evacuated in mid January due to deteriorating security and political conditions there.
Sources at Aden airport said a number of airliners have cancelled their flights after a surge in the clashes between pro-Houthi militants and the popular committees supporting President Hadi.
US, Britain, UN and other countries evacuated their diplomats and nationals from Yemen over the past few days with more deterioration in the security situation and a looming civil war.
