Egypt's Mufti Dr Shawqi Allam returned home on Wednesday coming from Singapore after several-day visit.
During the visit, Allam discussed with Singaporean President Tony Tan and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong ways of boosting bilateral religious cooperation.
Also, Allam and Tan touched on the recent positive political, legislative and economic developments in Egypt and the Egyptian army's role in maintaining order and stability in the country.
Allam informed Tan that Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi is keen on renewing the religious discourse and encouraging the Egyptian religious institutions in their quest to adopt a moderate approach of Islam.
For his part, the Singaporean President conveyed a verbal message to Sisi saying that he closely follows up the accomplishments made by Sisi in the political, security and economic spheres in Egypt.
