
Egypt was one of the first countries that signed the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of their Families, Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab said on Thursday.
Minister of Manpower and Immigration Nahed Ashri delivered Mahlab's speech in the ceremony that was held on the occasion of the International Migrants Day.
"It is the time to amend concepts related to immigration and migrants and stress our respect for human rights," Mahlab said.
He also called upon the Egyptian scientists abroad, totaling 3,000, to contribute to Egypt's development.
