Al Ain Zoo has always offered families a journey of discovery, however the zoo will be exceeding all expectations during Eid al-Adha this year. Families who journey to Al Ain will discover 15 exciting entertainment acts, 15 special Eid animal experiences and a new limited behind-the-scenes tour.
From Trash Drummers to Mime Artists, Circus Parades to Stilt Walkers, entertainment will happen in the most unlikely of places, popping up at special times to provide a unique experience.
Up close and personal is a promise delivered like no other with the special new ‘Kashtah' behind-the-scenes tour of the mixed African exhibit. Limited to only 3 tours of 6 people per day, it's a first come first served look into the lives of animals such as giraffes and rhino's. Like a mini African safari, the tour guides will be sharing animal, zoo and conservation facts during the 30 minute vehicle-based experience that gets you closer than ever before.
Completing the trio of up close and personal experiences will be the zoo's special Eid animal experiences programme of feedings, talks and enrichment. From having a Meerkat Moment to crocodile feeding, seeing animals enjoying themselves through play and satisfying their hunger will create many special memories and all children get an Eideya gift voucher for their next visit free.
All of this complements the zoo's regular programme of family favourites, from the bird and parrot shows, giraffe and budgie feeding, to everyone's own personal favourites from the thousands of mammals, birds and reptiles in the zoo's care.
Commenting on the celebrations, Muna Al Dhaheri, Chief of Conservation and Education at Al Ain Zoo, said, "We always strive to provide our visitors with an unmatched and unforgettable experience, particularly during the holidays. Visitors of all ages get to enjoy and discover the Zoo's diverse species in a fun and exciting environment, and are encouraged to interact more with animals through fun experiences. We hope many people will pop over to celebrate with us!"
She added, "We are excited to launch our Kashtah tour during Eid, and hope it will become a long-standing attraction. The zoo strives to really look after the animals in our care and to ensure their welfare we have to limit the number of Kashtah participants to 3 tours of 6 people per day, but this means that for customers it will truly be an experience few others will have had!"
