Rapporteur of the "For the Love of Egypt" electoral list Sameh Seif el Yazel welcomed a ruling issued earlier by the Supreme Constitutional Court annulling an article of the elections law.
The top court's ruling fills a constitutional gap in the law and is necessary to resume the political roadmap, Seif el Yazel told MENA on Sunday.
He called for announcing the new dates of the parliamentary elections before the economic conference the government will organize in Sharm El Sheikh takes place this month.
The Supreme Constitutional Court annulled an article related to the scope of electoral constituencies, the number of seats allocated for each constituency and the individual candidacy list.
The annulment might delay the parliamentary polls scheduled to start later this month.
