
Emirates General Petroleum Corporation, Emarat, raised the flag of the UAE over its headquarters in Dubai today, in response to the invitation extended by Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, calling for launching a national and popular campaign to celebrate "Flag Day" on the 3rd of November, the same day on which President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan assumed his position as President of the UAE.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed asked all federal authorities, ministries and departments to synchronously raise the flag of the country on all their buildings at 12 noon on Monday, 3rd of November, as a sign of their unity and to send the message that "We're not Emirates, we're the UAE".
Adel Khalifa Al Shaer, General Manager of Emarat, raised the Flag in the attendance of many officials and employees at the Corporation. Hussain Kazim, Emarat's Corporate Communications Manager, expressed his appreciation for the initiative launched by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashed, saying that such an initiative touches the hearts of every citizen of the UAE, and reflects the love, loyalty, belonging and unity felt by all citizens due to the visionary leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Adel Khalifa Al Shaer went on to say that the UAE flag "is in our hearts and conscience, and is the symbol of our sovereignty, security, peace and pride."
