
Tunisian President-elect Beji Caid Essebsi urged on Monday all Tunisians living in the southern region to be calm and look forward to the future.
This comes after rioting acts that prevailed at the southern regions of Tunisia that followed the presidential elections results in which Essebsi won 1,731,529 votes, against 1,378,513 for outgoing president Mohamed Moncef Marzouki from a total of 3,110,048 votes cast.
In a statement aired by the Tunisian TV, Essebsi said he "is a president for all Tunisians." He also thanked his candidate in the presidential run-off Moncef Marzouki.
