
The Chief of Joint Operations of the Armed Forces and chairman of the Sudanese side at the joint Sudanese - Ethiopian defence committee, Gen. (engineer) Imad-Eddin Mustafa Adawi, announced conclusion of the meetings of the 11 session of meetings of the Sudanese - Ethiopian defence committee in Addis Ababa, which was co-headed by the Defence Ministers of the two countries.
He said in a statement to SUNA that the joint committee has agreed on a work plan and establishment of the joint Sudanese - Ethiopian forces to be located at eight sectors, and with duties that are aimed for realizing security, peace and stability toward boosting the opportunities of joint development between the two countries, combating the negative groups, control of the joint border area and preventing across-border violations.
He said that this experiment comes as part of Sudan commitment to expand the experiment of joint forces with the neighboring countries.
Gen. Adawi said that signing of the agreement will be followed by a number of arrangements, such as holding meetings between commanders of the joint battalions and joint training and sports and cultural activities toward boosting the mutual confidence between the two sides for conducting more joint works.
