The Director General of Transport in Jazan Engineer Nasser Bin Ali Al-Hazmi said that the accident which involved the passenger transport ferry "Jazan" today during its anchorage at the port of Jazan was caused by maneuvering by the ferry captain to avoid the collision with a fishing boat that passed in front of the ferry during its routine journey from the port of Farasn to the port of Jazan.
In a statement to Saudi Press Agency, he said that the attempt by the ferry captain to avoid the fishing boat caused the collision of the ferry "Jazan" with the ferry of goods transport "Leen Almilahiah" which was waiting for the entry of "Jazan" first to the port of Jazan and then take its turn to enter the port, stressing the safety of all passengers and the absence of any injuries in the accident and pointing to some damage only to a number of cars that were on board the ferry during the trip.
