A fire broke out in a building at Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) at around 4pm on Wednesday.
A witness said that a building behind them erupted in flames.
“The building on fire is behind us. There was a lot of smoke earlier,” the witness, a security guard in a plastic cap manufacturing company, adding he is unsure if the building was a warehouse.
Another security guard said the area was cordoned off and declined to give further details. Jafza Civil Defence responded to the fire.
The building is near Jafza Gate Number 5.
A spokesperson from Dubai Civil Defence could not be reached as of press time.
