Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Sunday handed Jordanian King Abdullah II a message from Abdel Fattah El Sisi on regional developments, said Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid.
The spokesman said the message comes as part of continued political consultations between the two countries.
The spokesman said the meeting took up the situation in Syrian, Iraq, Yemen and Libya.
Shoukry conveyed to the Jordanian king Egypt's vision regarding the necessity of starting political negotiations on the Syrian conflict as soon as possible.
Talks also covered the situation in Libya and the importance of providing support to the national reconciliation government in order to carry out its mission.
