Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry is closely following up coordination efforts with a number of sisterly and friendly countries to help evacuate Egyptians from Sanaa.
Authorities concerned are acting in coordination with EgyptAir to obtain licenses and permits required by those countries to help Egyptians cross the Yemeni borders into Saudi Arabia and Oman en route to Egypt, Foreign Ministry spokesman Badr Abdel Aati said Saturday.
An Egyptian consular team has been deployed in Jizan and Najran border areas in Saudi Arabia, Abdel Aati said.
He added that the Omani authorities have also agreed to allow an Egyptian consular team to work at al Mazyouna crossing to facilitate the entry of Egyptians fleeing Yemen to Oman.
