
Egypt will host a donors' conference on the reconstruction of Gaza Strip on October 12, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri said Tuesday.
Invitations for possible attendees will be extended soon, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) quoted the minister as saying in a statement after his meeting with Norwegian Foreign Minister Borge Brende here.
Shukri said he discussed with Brende the current preparations for holding the conference.
"The conference aims at supporting the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and meeting their urgent needs ," Shukri said.
He added that Egyptian President Abdelfatah Al-Sisi met with Brende and discussed bilateral ties and issues of common interests.
Brende, meanwhile, said that he visited Gaza yesterday where was briefed on human losses and destruction caused by Israeli aggression on the Strip which lasted for 51 days.
