The Foreign ministry said on Saturday it is following up the issue of Egyptians in Zella in Jufra of Libya from their relatives in a village in Minya.
"Initial information show that Libyan authorities for illegal immigration have detained and held their vehicles with people of other nationalities," said Ahmed Abu Zeid, the foreign ministry's spokesman.
The Egyptian diplomatic mission are making contacts around the clock to ensure their release in coordination with local authorities and chieftains there, said the spokesman.
He urged caution in circulating news that could harm the Egyptians' lives and to allow state bodies to work to free them.
