The Foreign Ministry underlined that the UAE's authorities have arrested two Egyptians named Mohamed Ismail and Wael el Hinawy for taking a selfie while fire was erupting in "Address" Hotel in Dubai.
The Egyptian general consul in Dubai contacted with the UAE's authorities, stressing that the two nationals had no ill will as they did not intend to mock the accident or the harm tourism in the Arab country, according to Assistant Foreign Minister for Egyptian Expatriates Hisham el Naqeeb.
Dubai's general prosecutor decided to release them, said el Naqeeb.
He further underscored that Egyptians abroad should not misuse the social networking websites.
