Chief Prosecutor of the Capital Governorate Mohammed Salah has stated that the Public Prosecution completed investigation into the case in which a Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry's employee and a contractor were involved in embezzling the ministry's funds and forging official documents.
Details of the case reveal that the employee abused his position and approved a form showing that the contractor had completed installing insulators in a number of houses, and disbursed to him the right funds although he hadn't done that.
The Public Prosecution heard the evidence witnesses' statements and quizzed the defendants, who admitted to misappropriating public money, and said they were relatives.
They will stand trial at the High Criminal Criminal Court on November 1, over charges of embezzling public funds and forging official documents.
