
The Lebanese Future Bloc on Tuesday said reiterated support to Prime Minister Tammam Salam amid calls by protesters for him to resign saying, some political groups exploit the protests to topple the government.
In a statement, the bloc accused political parties of using violence to push the democratic protesting away from its peaceful track.
The right to expression is guaranteed for all Lebanese under the constitution, read a statement by the bloc. But this right should be exercised within the limits of law taking into consideration the freedom and safety of others.
The bloc condemned the chaos and the attacks that took place on Sunday in Downtown Beirut.
Lebanon's riot police used water cannons and tear gas to disperse rallies at Riad al Solh square Saturday who had gathered to protest the trash crisis.
The statement has also slammed attacking portraits of the bloc's founder Rafik Hariri and former prime minister Riad al Solh's statue.
