
An exceptional meeting for the GCC marine operations directors kicked off here Sunday to discuss future cooperative defense drills among the GCC countries marine forces, Ministry of Defense Directorate of Moral Guidance announced in a statement.
Director of marine forces operations at the Kuwaiti Army Brig. Gen. Khaled Ahmad Al-Kandari said that the three-day meeting will aim at raising the level of combative skills among the GCC marine forces, the statement said.
It added that during a preparatory meeting, Al-Kandari welcomed the participating delegations and relayed to them the greetings of First Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah and Chief of the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army Lt.-Gen. Staff Abdulrahman Mohammad Al-Othman.
The preparatory meeting was attended by GCC marine forces representatives and a delegation from the GCC general secretariat.
