GCC Secretary-General Abdullatif Al-Zayani has summoned the Lebanese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Abdulsattar Isa to the GCC General Secretariat's headquarters to protest against recent remarks by Lebanese Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah on Bahrain
Al-Zayani handed over a GCC note of protest to the Lebanese ambassador against those "hostile and irresponsible" remarks made by Nasrallah about the Kingdom of Bahrain as an explicit incitement of violence, and interference in its internal affairs, according to a GCC statement.
He said the GCC countries considered the statements as contradicting fraternal and historical relations between the GCC countries and Lebanon, it said.
The GCC chief called on the Lebanese government to clarify its position on these statements and to take relevant legal action, the statement added.
