The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani summoned the Ambassador of the Lebanese Republic in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Abdulsattar Isa to the GCC's General Secretariat in Riyadh following the hostile statements of Hezbollah's secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah against the Kingdom of Bahrain
The GCC Secretary-General handed a protest memorandum over the Lebanese Ambassador regarding such hostile, irresponsible, inciting-of-violence statements which are considered tantamount to flagrant meddling in Bahrain's internal affairs.
The GCC countries considered the statements of Hezbollah secretary-general as contradicting with the historic, brotherly bonds between the GCC-member countries and Lebanon, urging the Lebanese government to clarify its stance vis-à-vis such statements and to take the initiative by tackling anybody who tarnishes the relations of the Lebanese Republic with GCC countries and the need to take deterrent and decisive legal actions on such hostile statements.
