
The Gulf States and Yemen Regional Anti-Doping Organization (RADO) re-elected in its meeting in Muscat Dr. Sultan bin Ya'rub al- Busaidi, Chairman of Oman Anti-Doping Committee as Chairman of Gulf States and Yemen RADO for four years. The meeting is hosted by the Omani Olympic Committee represented by Omani Anti-Doping Committee.
The meeting also re-elected Dr. Saleh al-Qambaz, Chairman of the Saudi Anti-Doping Committee as Deputy Chairman, in addition to representatives of the Gulf anti-Doping Committees.
The meeting began with a speech by Dr. al-Busaidi, Chairman of the Gulf States and Yemen RADO in which he said that the Omani Anti-Doping Committee managed to achieve many successes throughout the period of their work in the training aspects of its cadres in the field of awareness of the dangers of doping substances in Sport, in addition to the declaration of the legal committees (Hearing Committee, Disciplinary Committee and the Exemption Committee for Therapeutic Purposes) in the Omani Anti-Doping Committee, adding that the committee has made excellent relations with international organizations and bodies in the field of anti-doping, and this meeting is clear evidence of the importance of the role of the Omani Anti-Doping Committee in carrying out its duties.
On the sidelines of the conference, the inauguration ceremony of the educational book (Doping Substances in Sports) will be held later in the day under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed al-Saeedi, Minister of Health and in the presence of a number of ministers and undersecretaries.
The Ministry of Education and the Omani Anti-Doping Committee prepared the book. A number of representatives from the World Anti-Doping Agency and the Olympic Council of Asia participates in the meeting.
