
Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa, who leads Egypt's hajj mission, headed to Mina to follow up the consequences of the Mina stampede incident which took place in street 204 Thursday morning.
Gomaa was accompanied by the Assistant Secretary-General of the Cabinet Mohamed Hassan.
The minister told MENA that he submitted a preliminary report to Prime Minister Sherif Ismail about the conditions of the Egyptian pilgrims.
Operational rooms were set up following the incident to follow up the developments of the incident and determine whether there are deaths between the Egyptian pilgrims or not, Gomaa said.
He further reiterated that there is a permanent contact between him and the operation rooms that was formed in Mina under Assistant Interior Minister and the executive chairman of the official hajj mission Sayed Maher.
