The Prime Minister of Palestinian unity government Rami Hamdallah and a high-ranking Islamic Hamas movement delegation agreed on Wednesday to form a committee to overcome the crisis in the Gaza Strip.
Khalil al-Hayya, member of Hamas delegation, announced this decision at a news briefing following a two-hour meeting with Hamdallah.
"One of the significant missions of the committee is to find a solution to the increasing electricity cutoff and to speed up the process of reconstruction in addition to solving the employees' salaries problem," he said.
According to the two sides, the atmosphere of the meeting was positive and constructive, where Hamas leaders appealed to Hamdallah that his government has to bear more responsibilities towards the Gaza Strip.
Earlier on Wednesday, Hamdallah arrived in Gaza for a two-day visit. It is Hamdallah's second visit to the coastal enclave since the formation of the unity government last June.
His first visit to Gaza was made in October, about two months after the end of last summer's Israeli war.
