Haqiq Knights represent Jordan at OSCE Youth Conference

Two Knights from the Crown Prince Foundation’s Haqiq initiative recently represented Jordan at the 2017 (Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe) OSCE Youth Conference “Working with Youth for Youth: strengthening security and co-operation online.”

The conference was held in Malaga, Spain to discuss the most important topics raised by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II during the Global Forum on Youth, Peace and Security.

Knight Yousuf Abdullah Falahat, from Haqiq’s fourth group in the Ma’an governorate, and Knight Qabas Ahmed Mansour, from the initiative’s seventh group in Amman, represented Jordan at the conference.

Eighty-four young men and women from 42 nations around the world attended the conference. Their discussions during the conference touched on a number of important topics and themes, such as supporting and strengthening youth to identify their challenges and opportunities, and to define their role in maintaining security and increasing their engagement within their communities.

It was agreed that the necessary support for youth should come continuously from local governments and international organizations to enhance their online capabilities. Doing so will ensure youth’s active and key role in ensuring the sustainability of peace and economic prosperity, both at home and abroad.

Mansour thanked the Crown Prince Foundation for sending representatives of Jordan’s youth to attend such international gatherings, and for opening doors that allow them to exchange their experiences with others’. The conference granted them the opportunity to fulfill their role in enhancing the skills of Jordan’s youth and their own abilities as Haqiq Knights. Similarly, Falahat was pleased to participate in this important international event; it gave him the chance to express and demonstrate Jordanian youth’s active role in their communities and their ability to emerge as pioneers of youth’s work in the Arab world and across the globe.

It is worth noting that the Haqiq initiative – one of the Crown Prince Foundation’s initiatives – was established to highlight youth’s abilities and give them the opportunity to become leaders in their local communities.

Haqiq also aims to strengthen Jordan’s youth through their participation in leadership programs in cooperation with the Ministry of Education. The initiative achieves its vision in four ways: training workshops, field visits and camps; enhancing youth’s interaction with their peers and local surroundings across the Kingdom; and helping them make a positive impact on their communities by adopting a range of values, including integrity, resilience, learning from failure, commitment, hard work, focus, responsibility, open-mindedness and self-confidence.

The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) is the largest regional security organization in the world. It holds 57 member nations and began its work in 1975.
