Housing Minister Mustafa Madbouli directed the Housing and Building National Research Center (HBRC) to examine the Italian consulate, 6th October Bridge and adjacent buildings after a blast that rocked the area early Saturday.
The HBRC formed a panel that will introduce a report to the Cairo Governorate after its examination.
The blast inflicted damage to a water pipeline, and the governorate provided water tanks for the area's residents.
Early Saturday, a bomb was planted under a car parked outside the Italian Consulate that was remotely detonated, leaving one killed and at least nine injured.
