
House of Deputies (HoD) received on Monday a notice from the Prime Minister concerning a presidential decree declaring a state of emergency in some parts of North Sinai governorate, including areas in Arish and Rafah cities, for three months.
The decree had already come into force as of Tuesday, October 27,2015.
The decree had imposed a night-time curfew in all of these areas between 7:00 pm (1700 GMT) and 6:00 am (0400 GMT), except Arish where the curfew had been imposed from 1:00 am till 5:00 am
According to the decree, army and police forces were required to take all necessary measures to confront terror threats, as well as preserve the governorate's security and protect public and private property and citizens. Violators of the decree were punishable by jail.
