
The committee in charge of probing development of Halayeb, Shalateen and Abu Ramad, southern Red Sea recommended paying annual visits to follow up comprehensive economic and urban development of border and deprived areas.
The committee recommended in a report discussed by the House of Representatives on Monday finalizing all projects being implemented in the area and establishing a traffic unit in Shalateen and a fire station in the city's marketplace.
The committee also recommended the establishment of an insurance and pension unit in Shalateen to meet the needs of the locals and the Abu Ramad harbor to be used in sailing to the holy lands in Saudi Arabia and facilitate trade particularly Aswan products for export.
