Housing Minister Mostafa Madbouli and Cairo Governor Galal Saeed will sign on Sunday three protocols to develop three slum areas in Cairo.
The first protocol includes the development of Sayeda Zainab-based Tal al Aqareb district, said Madbouli, adding that 16 residential buildings will be established.
Also, parts of the ground floor will be used as commercial units, he said, adding that the project will provide around 815 residential units and 258 commercial ones.
Tal al Aqareb district is considered a life-threatening area and its streets are very narrow, he added.
The second protocol includes the development of Al Asmarat district, he said, adding that about 6,228 residential units will be established at a total cost of 799 million pounds.
Madbouli also said that the third protocol includes a project to protect buildings in Al Herafiyen area, adding that the project will cost 31 million pounds.
