Injured Yemeni citizens
Abu Dhabi - Arab Today

36 injured Yemeni citizens who have successfully recovered following treatment in UAE hospitals on the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, have now left the country after being discharged from various health facilities.

So far, the UAE has welcomed around 100 people from Yemen to receive medical treatment.

A team from the Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, who have been supervising the humanitarian programme by providing vital services to patients and their companions, were at the airport to see the patients off.

Speaking on the occasion, Salim Sultan Al Suwaidi, Director of ERC's branch in Bani Yas, said that the former patients had regained their health with the help of UAE medical staff, adding that the remaining patients continue to receive treatment, which includes surgery in some cases.

The beneficiaries of the initiative expressed their thanks and appreciation to the ERC, the UAE government and its people for their efforts in improving their situation, reducing their suffering, and for standing with them during their current plight.
