
The number of the injured in the fire that erupted in Jazan General Hospital reached 123 persons, while 25 others were killed.
In a statement, the Saudi Health Minister Khalid bin Abdulaziz al Falih said that his ministry exerts its utmost efforts to offer medical treatment for the injured.
He further offered deep condolences for the families of the victims and hoped a speedy recovery for the wounded.
The hospital's administration announced an emergency state and tried to evacuate the hospital but the heavy smoke, caused by the fire, extended to the higher floors leaving 25 persons dead and 123 injured, according to the statement.
The minister further said that his ministry cooperates with the bodies concerned to know the reasons behind the accident.
