Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghaffar inspected on Tuesday the security situation in Ismailia governorate.
Also, he followed up fixed and mobile checkpoints set up on the Cairo-Ismailia desert road and at the governorate's entrance.
He will continue checking up on the security conditions and tasks assigned to the security forces to secure the New Suez Canal inauguration ceremony.
The New Suez Canal will massively increase the capacity of the existing canal and offer an important opportunity to boost the country’s economy
The 72-kilometer project involves a 37-kilometer waterway and deepening and expansion of the existing 145-year-old Suez Canal along a 35-kilometer stretch.
