The Interior Ministry denied on Wednesday some media reports claiming the killing of an officer in a drive-by shooting on Cairo-Alexandria desert road.
Two unidentified gunmen opened fire at the car of Abdel Halim Hemeida Abdel Kerim and his son Hamza on Cairo-Alexandria desert road, an official from the ministry's media center said in a press release on Wednesday.
Abdel Kerim was killed in the attack and his son was injured.
A nun was killed in the attack as the car carrying her along with two other nuns and a doctor happened to be passing during the attack.
During investigations, Hamza said the attack was revenge as his family is at loggerheads with a Wadi Natroun family.
Hamza also pointed finger at two persons, the official said, noting that efforts are underway to bust the two. (MENA)
