
Security forces arrested an international gang specialized in stealing persons who go to exchange offices.
A female citizen has reported to the police that she exchanged 180,000 dollars for 537,700 pounds from an exchange office in Abdeen, Downtown Cairo, and that her husband placed the money in their car's trunk.
They left the money in the car trunk and headed to another exchange office but when they returned, they found the car trunk open and the money stolen, the woman said.
Security investigations showed that a female foreigner was behind the incident and was arrested before traveling abroad. She was arrested along with others over the case.
A total of 144,000 dollars, 35,000 euros, 8,770 Mexican pesos, 40 pounds sterling, 100 Czech kronas and 40 Israeli shekels were found with the gang during the arrest.
