
An official in Samarra, in Salahuddin Province, announced that the Iraqi army has pushed back the ISIL terrorists from the city's outskirts and the life situation in normal in the city and its countryside.
“Iraqi forces have regained full control over the surrounding areas of Samarra,” said Mahmoud Khalaf, and added, “Life has come back to normal across the district," the Iraqi News reported.
The ISIL terrorists stormed on the military bases across Nineveh, Anbar and Salahuddin province in June, occupying Mosul and Tikrit.
The terrorist group advanced in many parts of the above-mention provinces and approached the capital Baghdad, but their attacked were repelled by the Army, popular forces from both Sunni and Shiite tribes and Kurdish Pishmarga.
The Middle-Eastern country's people from all walks of life grow united against the new wave of insurgency in the country, and currently the ISIL terrorists' strongholds and safe heaven are under siege of army in Tikrit and Mosul.
Iraqi defense ministry announced earlier that the army will eradicate terrorism and extremism in the country finally by the yearend.
