Iraqi security forces are proceeding toward Ramadi in line with the second phase of liberating it, said president of the Khalidiya district council Ali Dawood.
The army and police forces as well as the public mobilization advanced toward Ramadi, Al Arabiya News Channel quoted Dawood as saying.
Fierce clashes erupted where the security forces used artillery, missiles and mortar shells to target the hotbeds of Daesh in the Iraqi city, he noted.
Meanwhile, Iraqi Defense Minister Khaled al Obeidi said yesterday that the security forces combed Ramadi totally, adding that the first phase of liberating it was completed.
