
Iraqi First Deputy Parliament Speaker Hamam Hamoudi Tuesday condemned in the strongest terms the beheading of 21 Egyptian Christians by Daesh in Libya.
Hamoudi made the remarks during his meeting with Libyan Ambassador to Iraq Naji Shalgam.
The Iraqi official offered his condolences to the Egyptian people over the killing of 21 Egyptian Copts in Libya.
More efforts should be exerted to stop the terrorist attacks carried out by Daesh fighters in Iraq, Libya and the region, he added.
Despite the ongoing painful situation, Iraq is is proceeding on the right path and dealing with all problems, he asserted.
For his part, Shalgam stressed the strong fraternal relations binding Iraq and Libya, hailing significant accomplishments made by the new Iraqi government.
