
Iraqi President Fouad Masum met on Wednesday with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.
The Iraqi president asserted to the Egyptian top diplomat his appreciation for the national and historical role of Egypt.
He further expressed hope that partnership and cooperation with Egypt would be maintained for reconstructing the Iraqi State institutions to be able to stand up to terrorist groups.
For his part, Shoukry conveyed a message from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to the Iraqi president, said Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ambassador Badr Abdel Aati.
President Sisi underlined in his message the necessity of preserving the territorial integrity of the Iraqi people in face of terrorist groups, including Daesh, added the spokesman.
