Director General of the Islamic, Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) Dr. Abdulaziz bin Othman Al-Twijri strongly denounced the statements of Swedish Foreign Minister Margot Wallstrom defaming Saudi Arabia and its judicial system.
Speaking on the sidelines of the organization's participation in the Moroccan Arts and Cultural Dialogue Forum in Rabat, he described the statements as a blatant and unacceptable interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign country and a member of ISESCO.
He added that the statements are in breach of international laws and diplomatic norms which necessitate respect of countries' sovereignty.
He also asserted that offending the Sharia-based judiciary of Saudi Arabia is an affront to the Islam and a provocation to Muslims' sentiments. He demanded the Swedish government to rectify the wrong stance of one of its members.
