
A town close to Al-Ramadi city, one of the biggest cities in Anbar province, is now in the hands of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), a security source from Anbar operations command said on Saturday.
The source told KUNA that the Iraqi operation in Anbar issued a curfew in Haditha city, west of Al-Ramadi, in anticipation of terrorist attacks by ISIL.
The source added that ISIL was able to take south west of Al-Ramadi after three days of intense fighting with Iraqi police and tribesmen.
The source noted that the lost the battle in Al-Wafa area due to shortages in ammunition and attacks from ISIL sleeping cells in the city.
Meanwhile, the security command operation in Anbar announced a curfew to vehicle movement in Haditha city due to anticipated terrorist attacks, noting that the city is still under their control.
ISIL controls 80 percent of Anbar province, with the exception of Haditha and Al-Ramadi cities, including a number of tows in Babylon province.
