Israeli fighter jets carried out three successive airstrikes early Friday on eastern, northern and western Gaza city in response to rockets fired on Israel, Hamas security officials said. There were no reports of injuries. Three successive explosions were heard in northern, eastern and southern Gaza after in the wake of missiles fired by Israeli F-16 fighters, the officials said. Medical sources said rescue crew rushed to the targeted areas, but no injuries were reported. Early Thursday night, unidentified militants fired one rocket from Gaza into southern Israel. The rocket caused no damages or fatalities. No one has claimed responsibility for Thursday's rocket attack, but Israel usually puts the blame on Hamas, the Islamic group that has ruled the Gaza Strip since 2007. In November 2012, Egypt brokered an agreement between Israel and Hamas-led militant groups in the Gaza Strip, ending eight days of Israeli air raids that killed more than 180 Palestinians.
