
The Special Adviser to the UN Secretary-General on Yemen Jamal Benomar affirmed on Tuesday that the political process in Yemen progresses significantly despite the challenges it faces.
During his meeting with the committee tasked with drafting the constitution, he stressed that the UN is keen to provide the necessary technical support for the committee in a bid to enable it to realize its tasks in the most perfect manner.
Benomar pointed out that Yemenis have achieved big progress in the political process.
“The agreement which was based in the beginning was that solution is the partnership which ensures involvement of all political factors through the National Dialogue Conference to come up with constitutional principles to draft the new constitution to meet aspirations of all the Yemeni people.”
He valued the efforts being exerted by the constitution committee since the constitution is a guarantee for the success of the political process in Yemen.
